Illustrator of The Day
Hayley has been drawing for as long as she can remember and always enjoyed writing stories and making books when she was a child. Throughout her childhood her mother and older cousins would teach her new techniques of how to paint and draw.
After school, Hayley studied Art and Design at Blackburn College, then completed a degree in Illustration, at Blackpool College of Art and Design, in 2007.
Since then she as worked as an editorial illustrator for The Independent on Sunday, and a freelance illustrator and designer in the UK and Australia, working on commercial and personal projects. Recently she had her first children's book THIS WAY UP published with Hodder Children's Booksand created the award artwork for the Lancashire Book of the Year Award 2011.
